What is a race car auction?
For 30 years racer's, coast to coast including Australia and Canada, have come to buy and sell new and used race cars, parts, and haulers in Indy Thanksgiving Weekend because that is where they find the largest selection for the best prices and great service. This is the oldest and largest auction of its kind. Items are sold through not one but two auction rings, (A Ring) Main Auction selling all race car parts and accessories for three days and (B Ring) offering rolling stock and special sales Friday and Saturday. Manufacturers and race teams may choose to take advantage of a "Special Sale" Friday or Saturday in ring B to rid any amount of overstocked items or a complete team or company.

An auction is a buyers and sellers delight! It only takes an auctioneer and two people interested in one item to experience the excitement of the auction. We have the finest auctioneers in the business led by Bruce Haley of Columbus, IN. His crew will move throughout the auction rings catching the bids for consignors (sellers). The last bidder with his hand in the air when the hammer drops is just as happy. Dayton's auction and Haley's crew together have a 90% sell rate on rolling stock. If you don't see it sell through the ring, our team pulls the consignor and the bidders together in the Convention Center Hall right then. Both parties can usually come to an agreeable price. For the few rolling stock items that leave the building unsold, the advertising and exposure from the event usually produce a sell within the month. In three days we will sell over 85 cars, haulers, trucks, and trailers, and over 3200 other racing items. Our consignors bring complete engines all the way down to nuts and bolts. The Trade Show is also three full days of seeing, tire kicking, and buying the latest racing products available. See a growing list of exhibitors as it is updated regularly You can use the show to complete your Christmas list. Bring your family and stay at the Hyatt Regency, right across the street. The kid's Christmas list can be completed at the Circle Center Mall connected by a overhead enclosed walkway to the Hyatt and Convention Center. The trade show vendors and others will be leading free seminars on Friday and Saturday. Check the updated schedule for exact times.

And when the evening comes, take her and the family for a nice dinner downtown Indy. To complete the evening you can walk to the Circle to see the Christmas tree lighting Friday night, take a carriage ride, or just spend a relaxing time at the Hyatt's pool and spa.
